The 1 st Moroccan DAAD Meeting

Gathering the Moroccan DAAD Alumni across Morocco represents a challenge due to their diverse disciplines and occupations. Therefore, we are aiming through this first meeting to overcome this challenge by gathering the DAAD alumni.

This meeting is strategically embedded within the celebration of 70 years of German–Moroccan diplomatic relations in 2026, as well as 15 years of fruitful scientific collaboration between TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Moulay Ismail University - Meknes. It reinforces Morocco’s commitment to deepening international cooperation with Germany in education, research, and innovation. Bringing together DAAD alumni is an initiative that lays the foundations for a structured and sustainable alumni network capable of driving collaborative projects and mentoring future scholars. The meeting consists of a multi-faceted event, as it is the First National Meeting of DAAD alumni in Morocco, which is designed to gather, connect, and engage Moroccan former scholarship holders of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The integration of scientific case studies developed through Moroccan–German partnerships highlights the concrete impact of DAAD programs on national academic advancement.

The event will be organised by the Moroccan Association of Alumni of German Academic and Cultural Exchange Institutions and will take place in Errachidia city. Given the region’s distance from the capital, particular attention has been devoted to ensuring smooth logistics and high-quality accommodation for all participants. First, the transportation arrangements will carefully be coordinated to facilitate travel by flight and bus from all cities to the event venues. Second, the accommodation options will be selected based on comfort, proximity to the meeting sites, and their ability to host participants in optimal conditions. In addition, on-site organisational teams will be deployed to ensure that all sessions run efficiently, that participants receive continuous support, and that any logistical needs are addressed promptly. This thorough preparation aims to guarantee a well-structured, welcoming, and productive meeting environment despite the remote nature of the region.

The central component is the First National Meeting of DAAD Alumni in Morocco, which will bring together participants from across the country to share experiences, knowledge, and professional opportunities gained through DAAD programs and others. This national platform will serve as a base stone for building a stronger alumni network, enabling collaboration in education, research, and innovation.
